News from the North West - Summer 2019

Welcome to the latest edition of News for the North West.

Well here we are again. Another year is about to end and I’m sure we’re all looking forward to a bit of a break (for those who are lucky enough to get one).

This is my chance to wrap up the year for NWQROC and look forward to what we’ll be getting up to in the next. There’s a lot that’s happened in 2019, now where to start?

It wouldn’t be a lie to say it’s been a busy and challenging year. With flood recovery, federal election campaigning and more. Read more about what we've been up to in 2019 and what's ahead in 2020.

The councils of North West Queensland are at the frontline of preparing for and responding to natural disasters in their communities. Our councils are prepared to be the first point of contact for our communities and visitors to provide information and direction in the event of a natural disaster.

Combining their experience and local know-how, the councils of Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Doomadgee, Flinders, McKinlay and Richmond have developed the Get Ready NWQ online resource to ensure locally relevant information is easily accessible for locals and visitors. This project is supported by Get Ready Queensland.
