NWQROC on the road to regional solutions

NQLIRA CEO Shane Stone welcomes delegates to “Regional Solutions” Forum in Normanton

NQLIRA CEO Shane Stone welcomes delegates to “Regional Solutions” Forum in Normanton

The North Queensland Livestock Industry Recovery Agency (NQLIRA) held a series of stakeholder events across Northern Queensland throughout August and September. The sessions look to inform the development of a strategy for the long-term recovery and resilience of areas affected by the 2019 monsoon trough.

These events included community roundtables held in Julia Creek, Richmond and Winton, a NQLIRA-led ‘Regional Solutions’ discussion with NWQROC representatives in Normanton (3 September) and a QRA-led flood planning workshop (9-10 September).

We were pleased to have the opportunity to put the case for the North West’s long-term future when the Federal and State governments are focused on the region like never before.

Australian, Queensland and local governments all need to work together to support the long-term resilience and prosperity of North West.
