Developing Northern Australia Conference Darwin 2023
NWQROC Executive Officer Greg Hoffman PSM represented the region at the Developing Northern Australia Conference 2023 (DNAC) in Darwin 23-26 July, talking enabling infrastructure for Queensland’s north west as part of Northern Australia.
Greg was part of a workshop panel discussing planning Enabling Infrastructure for Northern Australia.
In collaboration with colleagues in NT’s Roper Gulf Regional Council, NWQROC delivered a presentation paper for the conference outlining the major opportunity presented for Northern Australia in completing the sealing of the Savannah Way.
Sealing the remaining 389kms of the Savannah Way is the key to major tourism expansion, mining and pastoral industry growth and First Nations employment opportunities across the lower Gulf and beyond.
The DNAC is to work with stakeholders to develop enabling infrastructure “packages” to start getting things done.
While at the conference Greg took the opportunity to catch up with Queensland Minister for Regional Development, Glenn Butcher (pictured). As Minister Butcher said: “It’s time for action”.
