NWQROC WELCOMES NEW MEMBER COUNCIL

At today's virtual NWQROC Board meeting we were pleased to welcome Mayor Trevor Pickering and CEO Jacqui Cresswell as it confirmed membership of Croydon Shire Council. NWQROC now proudly represents the 10 local councils of North West Queensland.

We have a long relationship across our councils and ROC working with Croydon council on various projects and welcome the opportunity to have them officially join our ranks as we continue to work together to represent and advocate for the state's powerhouse region - North West Queensland.

We look forward to our next Board meeting on 5-6 July in Karumba to bring the team together in person.

NWQROC’s councils service an area covering 22% of Queensland and contribute significantly to local economies through annual expenditure and employment. Given the relatively small size of the resident communities across the region, ongoing infrastructure and service provision by NWQROC Councils is significantly reliant on external grant funding.
